ABUS StormChaser ACE Pure White – Review & Experience

The helmet for the 2025 cycling season??? Buying a helmet – there are endless models on the market. That doesn’t make the decision any easier. So here’s my tip: the ABUS StormChaser PURE WHITE – completely white, from the long-established German manufacturer. And no, I’m not getting paid for this. I’m just really satisfied with the helmet because it takes a different approach.

If you want to look decent even with a helmet on your bike, this is the one for you. Thanks to its white outer shell, the helmet looks very elegant. But what really sets it apart is the white inner padding layer. It’s actually strange that almost all other manufacturers color this black – even though most Styrofoam (or similar materials) are naturally white. This small but refined detail makes the helmet a subtle eye-catcher. Subconsciously, you notice: something is different here.

Of course, looks aren't everything – a helmet needs to fit. And the StormChaser does that well. The only downside: the front straps could be a bit shorter for my head shape. If the wind hits just right, they sometimes start to flutter.

It’s stylish – no question. But is that alone reason enough to justify the price? For me, yes, because I care about aesthetics, build quality, and comfort. But that’s something everyone has to decide for themselves.
